Examples of applications:

• Cold waterproof impregnation of masonry or in-situ concrete on open ground
• Waterproofing of flat or curved surfaces of underground structures such as tunnels and underground corridors
• Waterproofing of horizontal concrete surfaces under screeds with a PE separation layer (in these cases it is recommended to apply Mapelastic to the screed before the floor finish, to protect the screed)

Technical properties

Plastimul is a solvent-free paste based on specially emulsified bitumen in water and fine fillers, developed in the MAPEI research centers. Thanks to its thixotropic viscosity, it is easy to apply to flat and sloping surfaces. After drying, Plastimul forms a waterproof, plastic layer that does not re-emulsify with prolonged immersion in water, even in the slight presence of acids or bases. It is resistant to aggressive substances in soil and meets the requirements for thick polymer-modified bitumen coatings according to EN 15814.

Consumption

Approximately 0.5 kg/m² per mm of diluted product as a primer. Approximately 1.7 kg/m² per mm dry layer on level substrates. Consumption is higher on uneven substrates. For performance according to EN 15814, at least two coats must be applied as required by the standard.
