Technical properties
Planiseal 88 is an osmotic, one-component mortar based on cement, selected aggregates and special synthetic resins, developed in MAPEI’s laboratories. After mixing with water, it produces a liquid mortar that can be applied by trowel, brush or sprayer. The mortar is completely watertight, even in the presence of dunnage, and adheres excellently to the substrate.
Consumption
Approximately 1.5 kg/m² per mm layer thickness.
Prevent chance of cracking
A leveling layer applied directly against the wall increases the risk of cracking. To minimize this, it is recommended that the floor be applied floating. This can be done by installing an edge strip first. This elastic strip catches expansion of the floor and helps prevent cracks. The use of a primer under the leveling layer is also recommended.
