To treat walls, it is necessary to always apply BaseBeton Primer (MCG Primer) first on absorbent substrates. For non-absorbent substrates, the MCG can be used undiluted. For absorbent substrates, the primer can be diluted 1:1 if necessary. Apply the primer evenly with a coat or foam roller. Consumption is approx. 100 g per m².
Application of Basa + Sense (see below for related products and complete kits)
After applying the primer, you can start applying the Basebeton. This consists of two layers: the Basa and the Sense. Both layers are applied with a plasterer’s knife. The Basa forms the first layer and must be spread evenly for an even thickness. The method of application determines the final appearance of the Basebeton.
When the Basa is hand-dry, the second coat, the Sense, can be applied. Use the plasterer’s knife again for this. The Sense is applied thinly and scraped over the Basa, as it were. Excess material can be returned to the bucket. While applying both coats, wearing protective shoe covers is recommended to prevent footprints.
Finish
Once the second coat has dried, the surface should be sanded with an eccentric rotary sander. Use 80- or 120-grit sandpaper, depending on the desired end result. After sanding, the surface should be thoroughly dusted, for example with an industrial vacuum cleaner.
For finishing, Basebeton is coated with a special 2-component coating: the Basebeton SA Basic-coat WB 2K-PU. This consists of component A and B. Add component B to A, mix well and pour the mixture through an MP 190 micron sieve. Then mix thoroughly again. Apply the coating with a nylon roller. Allow to dry for at least five days before using the surface.
