The Flow Resin Waterborne Floor Coating is a solvent-free, two-component coating that serves as a colored finishing coat for a tight, vapor-permeable floor finish. Once cured, the floor is liquid-proof but vapor permeable, allowing moisture to escape from the substrate. This makes the coating suitable for outdoor applications such as balconies and galleries, when applied in combination with the Flow Resin Epoxy Primer for Cement screeds.
See the product data sheet and instruction manual for detailed instructions on how to apply the coating.
Applications
Suitable as a colored finishing coat for such things as:
- Balconies
- Galleries
- Warehouses
- Workshops
- Production areas
- Technical rooms (without required electrical conductivity)
- Garages
- Parking garages
- Showrooms
Technical properties
- Silky matt finish
- Vapor open in combination with water-based epoxy primer
- Easy to apply
- Water dilutable
- Good venting
- Available in non-slip variant
- Solvent-free
- Easy to clean
- Excellent coverage
- Waterborne
Consumption
Consumption depends on the substrate, color and application method. For a flat substrate and dark color, consumption is approximately 200 g/m². With an uneven substrate and light color, this can increase to approximately 300 g/m².
Waterborne epoxy floor coating
The coating is diluted with 10-15% water (of the total weight of component A + B):
- 10% water: minimum dilution for good rollability
- 15% water: recommended for the first coat in a two-coat application, with slight influence on color intensity
Preparation of substrate
The substrate must first be treated with a water-based epoxy primer. Apply the coating between 16 and 36 hours after applying the primer for optimal adhesion. If the primer has already cured, sand the floor, make it dust- and grease-free and then apply the coating.
Special applications: lineation and anti-slip
For lines, use Flow Resin Epoxy Line Paint in a contrasting color. Use tape to delineate the lines. For anti-slip, add Epoxy beads to the coating.
Increased taxability
For heavy-duty areas, point loads can be increased by sanding the primer with Flow Resin Heavy Duty Antiskid. After sanding and cleaning, the coating can be applied for added grip and durability.
