Application

Water-based dispersion adhesive with high initial adhesion and thread effect, suitable for bonding linoleum in strips or tiles up to 4 mm thick, as well as cork-clinoleum and cork cement underlays. Only suitable for indoor use on absorbent substrates, can also be used with hot water underfloor heating.

Applicable for:

• Floors with normal to heavy loads in residential, commercial and industrial environments (such as hospitals, shopping malls, airports, etc.);
• Floors loaded with casters in accordance with EN 12529;
• Applying elastic wall coverings.

Technical properties

Ultrabond Eco 520 is a ready-to-use, light beige, solvent-free dispersion adhesive based on synthetic polymers. The adhesive is easy to apply with a trowel in one coat, non-flammable, toxic-free and has very low emissions of volatile organic compounds (EMICODE EC1 Plus). This makes it safe for both processors and end users and requires no special storage measures. The adhesive has a high initial tack, long open time (20-30 minutes) and is particularly suitable for linoleum thanks to its thread effect. Raised edges and curves can be fixed without any problems.

Important instructions

• Process the adhesive only at temperatures between +15°C and +35°C and relative humidity below 65%. Low temperatures and high humidity extend laying, bonding and drying times; high temperatures and low humidity shorten them.
• Do not apply to damp substrates or substrates with rising damp.

Applying the glue

Apply Ultrabond Eco 520 evenly with a suitable notched adhesive spreader so that the back of the floor covering is completely covered with adhesive. Do not treat more area than can be covered within 15-20 minutes.

Laying the flooring

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the laying method. Ensure that both the floor covering and substrate are at the correct temperature. Observe generally accepted technical guidelines and national standards (such as ISO, EN, DIN, BS, OE, SIS, UNI). The drying time of Ultrabond Eco 520 is between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on substrate suction and environmental conditions. Apply the flooring within the open time of 20-30 minutes to ensure good adhesion. After laying, smooth the surface with a wooden trowel or roller, working from the center outward to remove air bubbles and distribute the adhesive well. Repeat if necessary after a few minutes.
