Description and Application
UZIN PE 400 Moisture Screen is a ready-to-use, solvent-free primer that serves as a moisture-isolating pretreatment for leveling work on moisture-insensitive substrates.
UZIN PE 400 dries very quickly, allowing, under favorable conditions, leveling over the two coats after only about 3 hours.
Application of UZIN PE 400 Moisture Screen as a 2-layer moisture barrier:
- On sand-cement and concrete floors above ground level
- For new cement screeds with excessively high residual moisture content (max. 4%)
- Under carpet, cork, linoleum, CV and PVC at a maximum moisture content of 4% (CM measurement)
UZIN PE 400 Moisture Screen is also suitable as an adhesive primer on cement-bound floors with waterproof adhesive residues. UZIN PE 360 PLUS*/UZIN PE 375* must be used for water-resistant adhesive residues on anhydrite. After drying, UZIN PE 400 must always be levelled; direct gluing is not permitted.
Features / Product Benefits

Processing
If necessary, pour UZIN PE 400 with the required amount of water into a rectangular distribution bucket and stir well. Do not pour directly onto the substrate. Dip a fine foam roller into the mixture and roll off excess primer along the ridges of the bucket. Apply an even, opaque film to the substrate without puddling. Allow the primer to dry completely before applying another coat of primer or leveling.
Use as a Moisture Screen
Dilute the first coat 1:1 with water for good adhesion to the substrate. Using a fine foam roller, apply the mixture as thinly but opaquely as possible. Avoid puddle formation. After drying of the first coat (approx. 1 hour at 20°C and 65% R.H.), apply the second coat pure.
