Mapei Planitex Basic

Application

Planitex Basic is intended for indoor use and is used for filling and leveling unevenness in layer thicknesses from 1 to 15 mm on both new and existing substrates. It is suitable for almost all types of floor covering in areas with intensive use, including applications with chair wheels and floor heating. Suitable for indoor use only. Suitable for textile, needle felt, PVC, pattern, rubber, linoleum, multi-layer parquet, ceramic and natural stone finishes.

• Levelling calcium sulfate screeds
• Levelling concrete floors and cement screeds
• Leveling floors with underfloor heating
• Very suitable for tensile substrates such as poured asphalt, precast screeds, dry construction boards, chip and OSB boards, magnesia and stonewood screeds
• Leveling existing terrazzo, ceramic and natural stone floors
• Levelling old substrates with well adhering, waterproof adhesive residues

Technical properties

Planitex Basic is a white, ready-to-use dry mortar based on alpha-hemihydrate calcium sulfate, rapidly hydrating components, selected quartz sands, resins and special binders. After mixing with water, a highly flowing, self-levelling and rapidly curing levelling compound with excellent adhesion is produced. Suitable for mechanical processing with standard mortar pumps and transportable over distances of up to 100 meters. Crack-free workable up to 15 mm layer thickness and very strong after curing. The floor can be finished as soon as it is sufficiently dry. Drying time depends on layer thickness, ambient temperature and suction of the substrate.

Consumption

Approximately 1.5 kg per m² per mm layer thickness.

Prevent chance of cracking

To prevent cracking, it is recommended that the leveling layer be applied floating. This can be done by first placing an edge strip along the walls. This elastic strip catches expansion of the floor. In addition, the use of a primer under the leveling layer is highly recommended.
