Application
Fiberplan Xtra is intended for indoor use and is used to level height differences of 3 to 20 mm on new or existing wooden subfloors. The product makes the subfloor suitable for various floor coverings that must withstand intensive use and loading. Fiberplan Xtra is particularly suitable for floors with casters and for use on underfloor heating systems. Suitable for indoor use only.
Examples of applications:
- Leveling wooden floors, floorboards, chipboard, plywood, parquet, etc.
- Leveling precast screeds.
- Leveling screeds, terrazzo, ceramic and natural stone.
Technical properties
Fiberplan Xtra is a gray, dry mortar based on rapidly hydrating cements, selected silica sand, resins, special admixtures and synthetic fibers. After mixing with water, a liquid, self-leveling and fast-curing mortar with excellent adhesion is produced. The product can be applied without appreciable shrinkage in layer thicknesses up to 20 mm and achieves high compressive and flexural strength and abrasion resistance after curing. The drying time depends on layer thickness, temperature and substrate absorption.
Key points of interest:
- Do not add additional water once the mixture begins to bind.
- Do not add lime, cement or plaster.
- Do not use outdoors or in wet areas.
- Do not apply to substrates with rising damp.
- Do not apply next coat until the previous coat and primer are completely dry.
- Do not apply to metal, rubber, PVC or linoleum.
- Do not process at temperatures below +5°C.
- Do not apply thicker than 3 mm on bituminous substrates.
- Do not apply thicker than 10 mm on moisture-sensitive or weak substrates without primer.
Consumption
1.6 kg/m² per mm layer thickness.
Prevent chance of cracking
A leveling layer applied directly against the wall may lead to cracking. To prevent this, it is recommended to apply the floor floating using an edge strip. This elastic strip catches expansion and prevents cracks. In addition, the use of a primer under the leveling layer is highly recommended.
