Application
Ultraplan Maxi is intended for interior application in layer thicknesses from 3 to 40 mm and is used to level new or existing substrates and eliminate height differences. The product makes the substrate suitable for almost all types of floor covering, even in rooms with intensive use and heavy loads. It is particularly suitable for floors with castor chairs and underfloor heating. Suitable for indoor use only.
Application examples:
- Elimination of electric floor heating cables before installing ceramic or elastic floor covering.
- Leveling of cementitious substrates such as concrete slabs, Mapecem, Mapecem Pronto, Topcem or Topcem Pronto.
- Equalizing anhydrite floors, if properly pre-treated.
- Leveling floors with underfloor heating.
- Leveling existing floors of concrete, terrazzo, ceramic, natural stone and magnesite.
Technical properties
Ultraplan Maxi is a gray powder based on special quick-curing cement, selected silica sand, resins and additives, developed in MAPEI’s laboratories.
After mixing with water, it produces a liquid, self-leveling mixture that adheres well, dries quickly and is easy to apply. It can be applied horizontally over more than 100 meters with a pump.
Applicable in layer thicknesses up to 40 mm, with minimal shrinkage and without cracking. After curing, a strong, wear-resistant and pressure-resistant layer is formed.
Flooring can be applied as soon as the layer is completely dry. The drying time depends on layer thickness, temperature, humidity and suction of the substrate.
Consumption
1.7 kg/m² per mm layer thickness.
Prevent chance of cracking
A leveling layer applied directly against the wall may cause cracks later. To prevent this, it is recommended to apply the floor floating using an edge strip. This elastic strip captures expansion and prevents cracking. The use of a primer under the leveling layer is also strongly recommended.
