Description and Application

UZIN PE 480 is a high-quality 2-component epoxy resin, suitable for sealing and priming both absorbent and non-absorbent substrates with a very high residual moisture content. Applicable for laying floor covering, parquet and tiles, both indoors and outdoors.

Applications:

• As a moisture barrier on cementitious, moisture-resistant substrates such as rough, dense or smooth cement floors and concrete, without limiting the residual moisture percentage.
• As a primer for surface reinforcement on mineral, absorbent substrates such as cement, calcium sulfate, magnesium and wood stripping floors and concrete.
• As an adhesive layer on sanded tiles, stone, terrazzo and old substrates with adhesive, leveling, paint or floor covering residues. Also suitable for substrates with non-water-resistant adhesive residues such as fixings or sulfite glue.
• Suitable for hot water underfloor heating and caster loads in accordance with DIN EN 12 529.

Note: UZIN PE 480 is intended for situations in which the shielding effect of UZIN PE 460 (up to approx. 5 w/w) is no longer sufficient for insufficiently dry cement substrates. Not suitable for shielding moisture-sensitive substrates such as calcium sulfate, magnesium or wooden floors.

Important: Before further processing with levelling compounds or mortars, UZIN PE 480 must be completely sanded with fire-dried quartz sand (0.4 – 0.8 mm) or primed with UZIN PE 280.

Features and Benefits

UZIN PE 480 is a pure, high-quality epoxy resin (polyamine-cured), specially developed for applications on substrates that cannot dry to the permissible residual moisture content, but still need to be ready for laying quickly. Unlike many other epoxy resins, this product cures even on wet or damp substrates. A CM moisture measurement is usually no longer necessary.
