Neutral, fungicidal silicone sealant with very low VOC emissions, suitable for natural stone and marble.

Scope

Mapei Mapesil LM is a solvent-free silicone sealant with low modulus of elasticity specially designed for sealing acid-sensitive and plasticizer-sensitive materials such as marble, granite, sandstone and quartz. Thanks to its unique composition, the sealant does not migrate or cause staining, making it also suitable for sensitive substrates such as mirrors, brick, aerated concrete and painted or varnished wood. The sealant adheres excellently to non-absorbent substrates such as glass, ceramics, clinker, enamel and painted surfaces, metals and various plastics. Adhesion is also generally good on absorbent mineral substrates such as concrete, plaster and asbestos cement, often without primer (consult MAPEI Technical Service for advice). Resistant to treated pool water and suitable for indoor and outdoor applications, including moving joints such as:

• prefabricated building elements;
• connections between windows, doors and walls;
• pipes and vertical walls;
• coverings of similar or different materials. Also applicable in floor joints with limited foot traffic.

Technical properties

• Mapesil LM is a one-component, neutral-curing silicone sealant, solvent-free and odorless. The thixotropic paste is easy to apply on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. Curing takes place at room temperature under the influence of humidity, producing an elastic material.
• Joints remain long-term elastic and intact even when exposed to weather, industrial environments, temperature fluctuations and water. Flexible at temperatures from -40°C to +150°C.
• Mapesil LM inhibits the growth of superficial fungi.
• Generally good chemical resistance. If in doubt, conduct tests in advance.
