Application
Planipatch Xtra is suitable for rapid repair and leveling of interior floors, walls, stairs and corners, where rapid curing and a smooth surface are required. Applicable in residential, commercial and industrial environments.
Examples of applications:
- Levelling rough or uneven surfaces, smoothing down to “zero”;
- Filling holes, cavities and cracks (provided stable substrate);
- Quick substrate repair prior to application of leveling compound;
- Repair and leveling of stairs, pedestals and pillar corners.
Suitable for substrates such as:
- Concrete, cement screeds, Mapecem, Mapecem Pronto, Topcem, Topcem Pronto;
- Anhydrite and magnesium screeds;
- Floors with underfloor heating or heated beam structures;
- Ceramic and terrazzo tiles, natural stone;
- Concrete walls, cement plasters;
- Existing substrates with well adhering adhesive or leveling residues.
In combination with Latex Plus also suitable for:
- Metal and wood substrates (if properly prepared);
- Surfaces with paint, resin, bituminous adhesive residues;
- Fully bonded elastic or wood floors;
- As a primer/adhesion promoter on dense substrates prior to leveling.
Technical properties
Planipatch Xtra is a gray, dry mortar based on special cements, selected sand and synthetic additives. After mixing with water, it produces a well-processable smoothing compound with excellent adhesion. Thanks to its fine grain structure, it can be applied down to “zero” for a smooth, closed surface. The product can be modeled and smoothed for a perfect final result.
Applicable in thicker layers; for layer thicknesses greater than 20 mm, add 30% quartz sand (0.1-0.5 mm). After 60 minutes a self-leveling coat can be applied. For large areas the maximum layer thickness is 10 mm; after 4-6 hours suitable for floor installation. Curing is virtually shrink- and crack-free, with high mechanical strength and abrasion resistance. The smooth surface is ideal for elastic floor covering. Planipatch Xtra is safe to use and certified with EMICODE EC1 Plus and Blauer Engel (DE-UZ 113).
Important
- Do not use more water than recommended or add water to an already reacting mixture.
- Do not add lime, cement or plaster.
- Not suitable for outdoor use.
- Do not apply to substrates with rising damp.
- Do not process at temperatures below +5°C.
- Protect against rapid dehydration in hot or windy weather.
- Do not store bags in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
- When used on large surfaces and bonding parquet: minimum layer thickness 3 mm.
- Not suitable as a final finish.
Consumption
1.5 kg/m² per mm layer thickness.
Prevent chance of cracking
To prevent cracking, it is recommended to apply the leveling layer floating. To do this, use an edge strip along the edges. This elastic strip absorbs expansion. In addition, the use of a primer under the leveling layer is recommended for better adhesion and stress distribution.
