Application
Suitable for bonding virtually all sizes and types of ceramic tiles (such as double-fired, single-fired, porcelain, clinker, terracotta, etc.) indoors and outdoors, even on uneven substrates without prior leveling.
- Bonding of various mosaic types indoors and outdoors, including in swimming pools.
- Bonding of natural stone (if stable and moisture-resistant) indoors and outdoors.
- Applicable for thin porcelain tiles on floors, walls and exterior walls.
- Suitable for traditional substrates such as:
- cement and anhydrite screeds (after primer treatment);
- heated screeds;
- cement or lime mortar plastering;
- gypsum plaster (after primer treatment);
- drywall, precast panels, cement fiberboard;
- waterproofing membranes such as Mapelastic, Mapelastic Smart, Mapelastic Aquadefense and Mapegum WPS.
- Bond to existing floors of ceramic, marble, etc.
- Applicable to bonded wood, fiberboard and old, stable wood floors.
- Suitable for balconies, terraces and slabs exposed to sun and temperature fluctuations.
- Applicable to precast concrete walls and concrete substrates.
- Ideal for poorly ventilated areas where dust-free work is important.
Technical properties
Ultralite S1 is a lightweight gray or white powder based on cement, selected sand, synthetic resins and microspheres from silica material. Developed by MAPEI for sustainable construction. Low-Dust technology limits dust formation during mixing, ensuring safer and more pleasant application.
Key benefits of low density:
- 15 kg bags with the same volume as traditional 25 kg bags – easier to handle and lower transportation costs;
- Higher efficiency – up to 60% less consumption than MAPEI’s traditional cement adhesives.
The low viscosity enables fast and easy application. At the same time, the thixotropic consistency prevents tile slippage on walls, even at large sizes. Thanks to its excellent back-buttering properties, Ultralite S1 is ideal for thin porcelain tiles. The adhesive completely fills the back of the tile, preventing cavities and breakage risks. The non-slip properties ensure safe handling on vertical surfaces.
After mixing with water, a mortar is produced with the following properties:
- High distortion capacity;
- Excellent back-buttering;
- Strong adhesion to common building materials;
- Long open time and correction capability for easy placement.
Consumption
0.8 kg/m² per mm layer thickness, average 1.5-2.5 kg/m².
