Application
Mapesil AC is an acetic acid-based silicone sealant that cures by net formation and is suitable for sealing glass, ceramics and anodized aluminum. When combined with Primer FD adhesion improver, the sealant is also suitable for use on concrete, wood, metal, painted surfaces, plastics and rubber. Application areas include:
- Sealing of expansion joints with a movement capacity of ±25%.
- Elastic seal between structural components in construction, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, automotive and other industries.
- Sealing of ceramic and cementitious coverings on walls and floors, if not exposed to heavy wear.
- Sealing of sanitary and ceramic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and showers, in colors matched to the grout color.
- Sealing of expansion joints in swimming pools.
- Bonding of glass tiles and stained glass windows.
- Sealing glass in window and door frames.
- Sealing air ducts and water pipes.
- Sealing portholes, windows and glazing.
- Sealing reservoirs, pipes and boilers.
- Sealing of materials with different coefficients of expansion.
- General bonding and sealing.
